Draft Contract
- Terms: In the following document ‘we’ and ‘us’ refer to Somerset Language Services; ‘the client’ or ‘you’ refers to ______________.
- We undertake to provide English language lessons for ___________ hours, with appropriate content and at times as agreed in writing.
- The agreed fee for this course is __________Zł (_____________ Złoty).
- We will invoice you for the agreed fees. 50% is payable before the start of the course, and 50% at the mid point.
- Should we fail to be able to provide lessons as agreed, the balance of fees paid will be refunded in full.
- Should the client fail to make payment on time, as agreed, interest will be added to the account at a rate of 0.04% per day.
- All fees will be paid into our account by direct bank transfer at least one week before commencement of the course.
- We will provide a written schedule of lessons as agreed. Any changes to this schedule should be agreed with us in good time, and confirmed in writing. Lessons will take place at _______________________________.
- Should the client wish to cancel a lesson due to other commitments, this must be notified to us in writing at least 24 hours before the class is due to start. Provided this is done no fee will be payable for that lesson, and it will be added on to the end of the agreed course time. Email is the only acceptable method of cancellation.
- Failure to notify us in writing at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson will result in forfeiture of the fees for that lesson. It will not be added on to the end of the course.
- The course will include a 2-week ‘run-over’ period to allow for lessons cancelled with 24 hours notice.
- The maximum number of students per class is __________.
- We will undertake a free assessment of each student’s language level before placing them in a group. This placement is the preserve of Somerset Language Services. Should any problem arise from this placement students may change group only with the prior agreement of the Director of Somerset Language Services.
- We will provide all necessary student books and essential materials, the cost of which is included in the final agreed fee for the course. As such all books and materials remain the property of the client at the end of the course.
- We will provide all necessary additional materials, including photocopies, except where such materials prove essential to the nature of a particular course. In this instance, this will be agreed with the client before purchase. Where a student forgets their books, the client must provide necessary photocopies.
- Students must provide their own note paper and writing materials.
- The client agrees to provide an appropriate whiteboard or similar, pens and eraser in each room used for teaching. A portable board is acceptable.
- In the unlikely event of us being unable to provide lessons due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel lessons at short notice or substitute another teacher. This may be a suitably qualified Polish national or native speaker of another nationality.
- In the case of any such cancellation, we will not charge a fee for any lessons which have to be cancelled, and they will be added to the end of the course.
